A Night In Paris
A Night in Paris was the theme for Jackson Centers 2011 Prom. The juniors helped to construct all the balloon work and we think they did an outstanding job. When I went back to check on the balloon sculptures the next day, I only had 1 leaf on a bunch of grapes I needed to replace. We love working with the juniors each year to decorate for prom. The best part is always seeing the teens confidence grow as we go along. First responses are usually something like, "We're gonna' make WHAT out of balloons?" "I can't tie a balloon." "What if it pops?" But by the end of the day it's, "Wow!" "I can't believe we did that." "Nobody better pop this." "You guys do this all the time?"
Things may not always go as you planned them when working with balloons and novices. And if those novices are teenagers, well it just adds to the fun. It helps if you are creative, quick thinking, good at problem solving, keep a sense of fun and humor, and stay flexible. Thank you, Tina Alt (my business partner) and Cathy Tenney (Jackson Center prom advisor) for being all of those things.
Coffee for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and tacos for dinner, at least it wasn't escargot (snails) or cuisses de grenouilles (frog legs) to match the theme of the prom. Looking forward to next year.
